According to a Politbarometer poll, the German population does not believe that a potential summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin would lead to a cessation of the war in Ukraine. 84% of respondents expressed skepticism that negotiations could yield a positive result in stopping the hostilities. Only 13% of respondents believe Trump could achieve this.

Similarly, 82% of respondents stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in stopping the war. Only 14% of Germans disagree with this view.

Regarding Ukraine's possible territorial concessions, opinions were divided: 42% of poll participants believe Ukraine should cede some of the territories occupied by Russia in exchange for ending the war, while 45% emphasized that Ukraine must continue fighting for these territories.
