The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the payment rates for one kilogram of cotton harvested in this year's harvest season.
It was noted that the indicative price for machine-harvested cotton is set at 1,373 soums; for hand-picked cotton – 2,000 soums.
It was additionally stated that during the harvest, a practice of independently setting the harvest price based on mutual agreements between clusters, farm leaders, and harvesters can also be applied.
"A subsidy of 1,000 soums per kilogram of cotton will be allocated from the state budget to cover cotton production costs.
This measure is aimed at protecting the interests of cotton producers, incentivizing the labor of harvesters, and ensuring stability in the agricultural sector," the report says.
Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that the news circulated on social networks about "1 kg for 1,800 soums" does not correspond to reality and is not confirmed by official documents.
