According to data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the second quarter of 2024, Uzbekistan's total public debt increased by $785 million, amounting to $43.38 billion.
Of this, $36.42 billion is external debt, of which $20.39 billion was taken at a fixed rate and $15.87 billion at variable interest rates.
The main part of the external debt consists of long-term loans.
The amount of domestic debt decreased by $67 million, amounting to $6.96 billion.
The share of public debt to GDP increased from 33.6% to 34.2%.
