At the World Championships being held in Liverpool, England, eight Uzbek boxers won their quarterfinal matches and advanced to the semifinals.
The following athletes will step into the ring for the semifinal bouts to be held on September 12:
Women: Feruza Kazakova (51 kg), Navbakhor Khamidova (65 kg)
Men: Abdulmalik Khalokov (60 kg), Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (65 kg), Fazliddin Erkinboev (75 kg), Javokhir Umataliev (80 kg), Turabek Khabibullaev (90 kg), Jakhongir Zokirov (+90 kg).
At the same time, Nigina Uktamova, Sitora Turdibekova, Altynoy Satimbaeva, Khumoyun Mamajanova, Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov, and Shavkatjon Boltayev were defeated in the quarterfinals and have left the competition.
