We previously reported that pressure was being applied against the entrepreneur Usmonjon Abdusamadov, who had expressed his opinion on corruption cases in the construction sector, and that the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services had officially filed a complaint against the entrepreneur with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Business Ombudsman expressed an official position on this matter.
The statement said that the entrepreneur must not be punished for his critical opinion and that this situation is considered by the Business Ombudsman as a form of pressure against the entrepreneur.
It was also noted in the message that the free activity of every entrepreneur and the observance of their rights are guaranteed by law, and therefore, resolving the problems faced by entrepreneurs is a primary duty of the Business Ombudsman.
"The Business Ombudsman calls on all state bodies to listen to the opinions of entrepreneurs and jointly seek constructive solutions to problems hindering business.
It is worth especially emphasizing that the open expression of opinions and critical comments by entrepreneurs serves to further improve and increase the effectiveness of government reforms.
If an entrepreneur expresses an opinion on the path of the sector's development, this should not be a reason for criticism or punishment. On the contrary, such opinions should be accepted as an opportunity to solve problems," the message states.
