Nearly 50,000 citizens protested against corruption in a major demonstration held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Participants in the action put forward demands for transparency and justice in the government. Police detained 72 people, including 20 minors.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. commented on the demonstrations, stating that he understands the people's discontent: "We cannot criticize the discontent of the people on the streets. If I were not the president, I would have joined them in the protest," he said.

The protests show that anti-corruption sentiment is growing in the country.
