According to Resolution No. 589 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 16, 2024, the procedure for conducting weddings, ceremonies, and family events within the framework of the "Rational Consumption" (Save Food) program has been established. From now on, wedding ceremonies will be subject to control based on the established procedure.
It is reported that the period of 2026–2030 has been declared the "Crucial Food Security Period." During this period, measures will be implemented to prevent excessive waste and to provide the population with sufficient and high-quality food.
According to the resolution, weddings and ceremonies will be conducted based on the regulations approved in 2019. At family events — up to 200 people, at wedding feasts — up to 250 people, and at double weddings and hashar events — 250–300 guests can participate.
Furthermore, conducting ceremonies that require excessive time and expenses, such as "Kuyov Navkari" (groom's procession), "Ota K'ordi" (father saw), "Sep Yoydi" (spreading the feast cloth), "pul tarqatish" (money distribution), and "mato ulashish" (fabric sharing), is prohibited.
