On September 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly held in New York. He focused on global threats, reforms in New Uzbekistan, and issues of regional and international cooperation.

The President noted the weakening influence of international institutions and the increase in conflicts and wars. He emphasized the necessity of reforming the UN Security Council and expanding its composition.

At the beginning of his speech, Mirziyoyev informed that poverty in Uzbekistan has been reduced from 35 percent to 6.6 percent, and educational coverage has increased sharply.

The Head of state proposed to hold the Global Summit on Professional Education and the International Forum on Water Conservation in Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the necessity of not leaving Afghanistan alone, stopping military operations in Gaza, and implementing the principle of "two states for two peoples."

Mirziyoyev also paid special attention to issues of youth, gender equality, climate change, and equal use of artificial intelligence. In conclusion, the President stated that Uzbekistan is a supporter of open dialogue and constructive engagement.
