According to a draft resolution developed to improve road traffic safety in Uzbekistan, starting from January 1, 2026, the use of motor vehicles manufactured 50 or more years ago may be prohibited.

Such vehicles will be de-registered and cannot be re-registered. This ban does not apply to vehicles classified as "antique."

Furthermore, a three-stage competition called "Green Light" has been established to promote compliance with traffic rules among children and youth.

The competition winners will be awarded using funds from the "Safe Road and Safe Pedestrian" fund.
