The group, in its official address, expressed its readiness to hand over the bodies of all surviving hostages and those killed in the Gaza Sector to Israel. This was reported based on information from the AFP agency and the Al Jazeera television channel.
In its statement, HAMAS noted: "If the necessary conditions are created, we will act based on the exchange formula proposed by President Trump. We are also ready to immediately start negotiations through mediators."
The movement also expressed its intention to hand over the administration of the Gaza Sector in the future to "an independent body based on Palestinian national consensus and possessing Arab and Islamic legitimacy." This could pave the way for new political processes in the region.
However, as emphasized by Musa Abu Marzuq, a member of the HAMAS political bureau, handing over the hostages and bodies within 72 hours is practically impossible at the moment and is currently considered only a theoretical matter.
The movement also clearly stated that it has not made any decision regarding the issue of disarmament. Senior HAMAS leaders emphasize the need to change some of the conditions in the plan proposed by the US President.
US President Donald Trump, on his Truth Social network, announced HAMAS's response text and wrote that this process could be the last opportunity on the path to peace. He emphasized that if an agreement is not reached, the consequences for HAMAS would be unprecedented.
This event indicates that the complex political processes in the region have entered a new stage. The upcoming negotiations could have a significant impact not only on the fate of Gaza but on the entire Middle East.
