Tashkent Region's hokim Zoir Mirzaev, commenting on the mass poisoning incident that occurred in several state kindergartens in the region, emphasized the necessity of dismissing the heads of the regional department of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Wellbeing Committee under the Ministry of Health and the responsible officials of the district divisions. He spoke about this on October 6 at a session of the regional council of people's deputies.
"That saved us then. If medicines worth 5–6 billion soums had not been available on time, I don't know what would have happened," the hokim says.
According to Zoir Mirzaev's words, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the poisoning incident, and so far 11 individuals have been detained. It is stated that the majority of them are representatives of "outsourcing" companies that supply the kindergartens with food.
We remind you that on September 24, the health of children in several state kindergartens in Piskent and Bo'ka districts deteriorated, and they were hospitalized. According to official figures, the number of poisoned children reached 1,922.
