In the Samarkand region, the lead specialist of the Agro-Industrial Complex Inspection for Supervision was caught red-handed while receiving a $3,000 bribe from a farmer. It was reported that he was detained and a criminal case was initiated against him.
According to information from an operational event conducted by the State Security Service and the regional prosecutor's office, the official demanded $3,000 from the farmer in exchange for not holding him liable for the damage caused to land productivity.
He had previously received $500 and was caught with material evidence while receiving the remaining $2,500.
A criminal case has now been initiated against him under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and detention as a preventive measure has been applied. Investigative actions are ongoing.
