Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev went to Samarkand to participate in the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference. The press service of the head of state reported this.

It is noted that the President first visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari, familiarized himself with the final finishing works in the complex and the landscaping processes being carried out in the area.

On the initiative of the head of state, this complex was rebuilt in a manner worthy of the high status and immense authority of our great muhaddith ancestor in the Islamic world. Comprehensive convenient conditions were created for visitors.

The territory of the complex was expanded, and its total area now reaches 44 hectares. The revered mausoleum, a mosque for 10 thousand people and an administrative building, a museum, and entrance and exit aivans have been completed. The 75-meter minarets at the four corners of the shrine give it a majestic appearance. The head of state inspected the construction in the new mosque.

Every time the President visited Samarkand, he familiarized himself with the construction process of the complex and emphasized that this place should not only be a site of pilgrimage but also a center of knowledge, education, and enlightenment, and that the great pursuits, knowledge, and perfection of Imam Bukhari should serve as a good example for visitors, especially young people.

For this purpose, an innovative museum has also been organized in the new complex. It demonstrates the life and scientific legacy of Imam Bukhari, recognized in the Islamic world as the Sultan of muhaddiths, and his contribution to the development of Islamic enlightenment. In addition, the museum houses information about the history of the 25 prophets mentioned by name in the Holy Quran, the family tree of the Prophet Muhammad, his life in Mecca and Medina, and the collection and writing of hadiths.

Construction work around the shrine, including hotels and other service buildings, has entered its final stage. One four-star, two three-star, and 22 family hotel houses have been established.

The head of state gave instructions on organizing the complex's activities effectively, increasing conveniences for people, and expanding green areas. Tree saplings were planted on the territory of the complex with good intentions.
