The appeal posted on social media with the content "Is it legal to impose a fine for criticism?" became the reason for numerous discussions among citizens.

In particular, it was noted in the appeal that the construction organization - "Golden House Property Group" LLC has the right to impose a fine in the amount of 10% of the paid amount or the contract value if the consumer unilaterally terminates the contract; and it is also stipulated that a fine will be applied against them if clients express dissatisfaction with the company's activities and file a complaint with official authorities or the media.

The Competition Committee conducted studies and found that the "Golden House" company has implemented exactly such a procedure in contracts for the purchase of apartments in multi-story buildings on a share-participation basis. This is considered a condition that restricts consumer rights.

In this regard, based on the requirements of Articles 4, 6, 21, and 23 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Protection of Consumer Rights", the Competition Committee gave the company an official instruction to voluntarily eliminate the violations of the law.
