Today, on November 6, a press tour was organized at the "Electricity Sale Automation Center" branch of "Regional Power Networks" JSC.
During it, clarification was provided regarding the messages circulating on social networks that starting from November 1, 2025, households in Uzbekistan with utility debt will have their electricity supply cut off.
According to officials' information to journalists, the situation is being misinterpreted among the population, as well as in the mass media.
"In reality, this is somewhat different. Namely, there is the President's Decree No. 5. This decree assigned tasks aimed at regulating these utility payments and forming payment discipline. It entails that if you have a utility debt, you will be notified via an SMS alert sent to the short number 2100. If the utility debt is not settled within a five-day period, then payment for electricity will be restricted. It is not cut off immediately. After the payment is restricted, the amount available in your account will be used up over three, five, or maybe even ten days, and only after it is fully depleted will the system automatically disconnect you from the network. The restriction works in that direction. A consumer with utility debt will not be directly disconnected from electricity," said the JSC representative.
