According to the report of the State Security Service, a criminal case will be initiated by the prosecutor's office under Article 167 of the Criminal Code (misappropriation or embezzlement) regarding a shortage of 61 million soums identified at the Urgut District Medical Association of the Samarkand region.
During one of the neighborhood citizens' gatherings in the district, the assistant to the khokim was caught by State Security Service officers while receiving 2500 US dollars in exchange for positively resolving a part of this criminal case related to one of the suspects involved by familiarizing himself with it.
It was subsequently revealed that the assistant to the khokim was supposed to give this money to a lawyer from the local bar association, the operational measures were continued, and this defense lawyer was also caught red-handed while receiving the 2500 US dollars.
It is known that the lawyer, through his official connections, promised to terminate the part of the criminal case related to the suspect under Article 84 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the assistant to the khokim and the lawyer under Articles 168 and 28,211 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
Despite the assistant to the khokim having been previously tried under Article 167 of the Criminal Code and the lawyer under Article 168, they did not learn from their mistakes.
