According to the information from the Customs Committee, several cases of illegal importation of mobile devices into the republic were identified at the "Namangan Airport" border customs post of the Namangan Regional Customs Department.
A group of passengers arriving from Kuwait attempted to carry through 8 iPhone 17 phones, which did not belong to them and had a total value of 160 million soums, at the request of another person. They were stopped during customs control.
Two similar attempts were observed related to passengers returning from Jeddah. One passenger returning from an Umrah pilgrimage tried to secretly bring in 5 iPhone 17s, while another citizen planned to clear 10 phones through customs by distributing them among passengers under the pretext of "for personal use."
However, he was exposed while collecting the phones in the airport parking lot. Customs investigations regarding these cases are currently ongoing.
