On the evening of November 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The head of state's press service reported on this.
It was noted that during the conversation, the pressing issues of further developing and strengthening the multifaceted strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia within the framework of implementing high-level agreements were discussed.
Special attention was also paid to maintaining the growth rate of trade turnover, promoting cooperation in key sectors of the economy, including joint projects in the energy sector, and expanding interregional business ties and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
Furthermore, it was noted with satisfaction that the second meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, held on October 22 of this year in the Moscow region, was productive.
At the same time, the importance of successfully holding the upcoming meeting of the Uzbekistan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission and the joint business forum within its framework on December 3 was emphasized at the end of the conversation.
Views were also exchanged on current issues of international and regional importance, and the schedule of future events was discussed.
