Donald Trump claimed in the BBC's documentary "Panorama" that his speech on January 6, 2021, was edited and misinterpreted. He is demanding that the company remove the film from broadcast, officially apologize, and pay compensation in the amount of 1 billion dollars.
According to Trump, parts of his speech were cut in the film, making it appear as if he called on his supporters to storm the Congress. Following the controversy, the BBC leadership apologized, and some senior staff resigned.
Trump's lawyers have announced that if the BBC does not fulfill the demands by November 14, a lawsuit will be filed in the state of Florida.
