According to Politico, US President Donald Trump announced at a ceremony held at the White House that he recognized Saudi Arabia as a "major ally outside of NATO." Thus, the Kingdom joined the group of 19 countries that hold this status.

According to Trump, a comprehensive defense agreement was signed between the US and Saudi Arabia. The meeting also revealed that Saudi Arabia will invest $1 trillion in the US economy and purchase $140 billion worth of American weapons and defense services.

The President specifically highlighted Saudi Arabia's role in stabilizing the situation in the Middle East, noting that the adopted UN resolution to end the conflict in Gaza was the result of efforts involving Saudi Arabia.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized that cooperation with the US has been elevated to a new stage, stating that the signed agreements would further strengthen bilateral relations.
