According to Imankulov, as traffic congestion in the capital is increasingly intensifying, the city needs to grow upwards. In his opinion, building 500-unit apartment buildings in place of old 100-unit buildings could increase population density.

"Bishkek is the capital, we need to grow. If you want clean air and freedom — go to the village or to prison," the official said.

Imankulov also noted that President Sadyr Japarov's policy of improving housing conditions in the regions is correct.

Recently, the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchibek Tashiev, sharply criticized the alleged corruption in the Ministry of Transport and said that if the accusations are proven, those responsible will be punished.
