President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the work being carried out to turn neighborhoods into areas free from unemployment and poverty and to ensure employment of the population. The meeting, held in a critical spirit, noted that existing opportunities are not being used sufficiently and that complacency is observed in some areas. It was also emphasized that there are no clear criteria for evaluating the activities of the "neighborhood seven" and that it is necessary to increase their responsibility.

In order to reduce unemployment and poverty in neighborhoods, they were tasked with identifying their problems and development points and developing targeted measures. The task was set to pay special attention to resolving the population's appeals directly in the neighborhoods. In neighborhoods of the difficult category, additional measures are planned in areas such as improving infrastructure, electricity supply, internet, and garden plot opportunities.

The meeting noted that it is planned to reduce the poverty rate in the country from 8.9 percent this year to 6 percent, and next year to 4.5 percent. For this, a set of tasks has been defined to expand the coverage of employment services, create sources of income, provide vocational training, and develop entrepreneurship. Furthermore, through joint programs such as inclusive employment, creating local brands, improving garden plots and water supply, and export cooperatives, it is planned to cover nearly 1 million poor people.
