A number of modern cogeneration plants, which simultaneously produce electricity and heat, have been launched in the capital to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of thermal energy to the population and economic facilities during the winter season.
This project, with a capacity of 100 MW, built on the basis of public-private partnership in the territory of the 4th heat supply center in Yunusabad district, is one of such important initiatives.
The project, implemented in cooperation with China's "CNTIC" company, is located on an area of 3.5 hectares. $65 million in direct foreign investment was directed for its financing. Our head of state familiarized himself with the center's operation process.
70 gas-piston units from the British company "Rolls-Royce" were installed at the cogeneration facility.
The heat supply infrastructure from the boiler houses to the consumers was reconstructed. Heat mains were renewed. Networks were replaced with insulated pipes. This makes it possible to prevent energy losses of various degrees.
As a result of the center's launch, 876 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 858 thousand gigacalories of thermal energy will be produced annually. At the same time, 35 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved per year.
Now, a total of 1,846 facilities located in the Yunusabad, Almazar, Shaykhantokhur, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Yakkasaray districts of the capital are provided with a constant supply of thermal energy. 1,400 of them are residential households, and the rest are social sector facilities. Also, 292 thousand households will receive a stable supply of electricity.
With the launch of the project, the costs for producing thermal energy will decrease by 40-45 percent. The amount of polluting substances released into the atmosphere will be significantly reduced, and wastewater discharges will not occur.
On the same spot, our President familiarized himself with presentations on the distribution of forces and means to be involved in service in case of abnormal cold conditions, as well as with proposals on the work carried out in preparation for the autumn-winter season, the development of heat supply centers, the modernization of the Tashkent Heat and Power Plant, and the improvement of landscaping works in the capital.
There are 11,630 multi-story buildings in the capital. 358 management service companies provide services to them. Our head of state was interested in the extent of their preparedness for the season.
"The activity of management service companies in urban conditions is organically linked to the life of the population. Therefore, they must work precisely and continuously, like clockwork. The necessary conditions are being created for this. Now, the worldview and approach of the sector's employees must also change. It is necessary to be aware of the population's condition and to keep the basements and roof sections of multi-story buildings, corridors, and playgrounds in order," said the President.
Furthermore, relevant instructions were given to the heads of the energy, landscaping, construction, and service sectors regarding systematic and coordinated work during the season.
