It was revealed that students at one of the schools in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region were subjected to compulsory labor as a punitive measure. The Children's Ombudsman reported on this.
It is noted that a citizen, Sh.N., from among the district residents, appealed to the relevant authorities and reported that the school director and some teachers were forcing students to perform tasks such as whitewashing trees, irrigating land, and clearing snow.
This appeal was investigated by the Tashkent Regional Department of the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment based on an inquiry from the Children's Ombudsman. During the inspection, it became known that these tasks were carried out as an "educational punishment."
Regarding the identified violation of the law, an administrative fine was applied to the school administration under Part 1 of Article 51 (forced labor) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
