According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, state institutions can no longer hold New Year corporate events at the expense of the budget.
Ministries, agencies, regional and Tashkent city administrations, as well as economic associations with a state share of not less than 50 percent, are prohibited from organizing holiday events and banquets using budget and extra-budgetary funds.
At the same time, employees can hold New Year events outside working hours using their own monthly salary or incentive funds.
Private companies not under state control are exempt from this prohibition.
