On December 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held in Saint Petersburg.
The event took place around the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and was attended by the leaders of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Prime Minister of Armenia. The meeting reviewed the joint work carried out this year and outlined key areas of cooperation for the coming year.
The issues discussed included priority items such as increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding cooperation in transport and investment, and joint projects in science, education, culture, and art. Additionally, views were exchanged on strengthening trade and economic cooperation in the region.
