On May 8, a meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin took place as part of events in Moscow.
At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other on the 81st anniversary of the Victory.
The meeting discussed issues of further developing comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as implementing previous agreements at the highest level.
The sides noted with satisfaction the steady growth of mutual trade volume and the successful implementation of joint projects in industry, energy, metallurgy, and other sectors.
It was also emphasized the importance of maintaining the pace of commodity exchange, accelerating cooperation projects in priority areas, and actively continuing interregional ties.
Special attention was also paid to issues of expanding cultural and humanitarian exchange.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia exchanged views on pressing issues of international significance.
