Two border guards were killed following an armed clash on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border.

In a clash with individuals who illegally crossed the border from Afghanistan, two Tajik border guards were killed.

According to the Tajikistan State Committee for National Security Border Troops, the incident occurred on December 24 in the area of the "Sarchashma" border detachment in the Shamsiddin Shohin district.

Three Afghan individuals violated the border and, after refusing a demand to surrender, offered armed resistance.

As a result of response measures, all three violators were eliminated. Various ammunition, hand grenades, and weapons were seized from the scene of the incident.

During the operation, two Tajik border guards were killed. The situation in the border area is now stable, and investigative actions regarding the incident are being carried out.
