A person who snatched a phone at a pedestrian crossing in Tashkent has been apprehended.

In the area of the Northern Railway Station of the capital, the person who forcibly snatched a girl's phone at an overpass was arrested as a result of rapid response measures.

A suspect in the robbery case that occurred in Tashkent city at the end of December has been detained. According to the city DIA, the incident took place near the Northern Railway Station pedestrian underpass around 21:00 on December 21.

According to information, an unknown person attacked a 21-year-old girl, snatched her smartphone worth approximately 500 US dollars, and fled. During the conducted rapid search operations, the person who committed the crime was identified, and it was found to be 26-year-old Otabek Madumarov, who has been previously convicted.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 164 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The suspect has been taken into custody, and investigative actions are ongoing. The crime carries a penalty of deprivation of liberty from 5 to 8 years.
