A young man who insulted Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on Telegram has been detained in Samarkand. The regional DIA reported on this.
It was established that the individual, born in 2004, posted information promoting religious enmity in the comments section of one of the channels on the Telegram social network via his personal profile on December 30.
Based on the results of pre-investigative checks regarding this case, his actions were given a legal assessment, an administrative protocol was officially drawn up against him under Article 184³ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and the materials were sent to court.
In accordance with the ruling of the Pakhtachi District Court on Criminal Cases dated January 9, 2026, it was found that the actions of this individual contained signs of an offense provided for in Article 184³ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and an administrative detention penalty of 12 days was applied to him.
Article 184³ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility establishes the offense of preparing, storing, or distributing materials promoting national, racial, ethnic, or religious enmity.
Legal measures are taken against individuals who violate this article: an administrative protocol is officially drawn up against them, and by court ruling, an administrative detention penalty, a fine, or another measure provided for in the code is applied.
