This indicator has decreased somewhat compared to last year.
In Uzbekistan, 2,188 people died as a result of road traffic accidents during 2025. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Service. It was emphasized that this indicator is lower than the 2,199 people recorded in 2024.
Also, due to road accidents in 2025, 8,901 people sustained bodily injuries of varying severity. This is also lower than last year's figure (8,931 people).
According to expert analysis, despite a noticeable increase in population and the number of vehicles over the past five years, a decreasing trend in road accidents and resulting fatalities has been maintained. In particular, the mortality rate per 100,000 population has dropped from 6.9 to 5.7.
Measures aimed at ensuring child safety have also yielded results: in 2025, the number of road accidents involving children decreased by 171 compared to 2024, and the number of children killed decreased by 36.
For reference, according to the results of 2024, Uzbekistan was noted as the country with the lowest rate of fatal road traffic accidents among the CIS states.
