U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the situation in Iran.

The publication Axios reported on this conversation.

According to the report, this was the second conversation between the leaders in the last two days, as Trump is considering options for a possible military strike or moving to diplomatic negotiations with the Iranian regime, which is suffering from widespread protest rallies and internal instability.

The White House and the Israeli Prime Minister's office declined to comment.

During the first call on Wednesday, Netanyahu asked Trump to refrain from military action against Iran in order to give Israel more time to prepare for a possible Iranian response.
