According to information provided by the State Security Service, rapid search operations were carried out in the Ohangaron district, and the cities of Angren and Olmaliq, in collaboration with the personnel of the Tashkent regional administration and the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs. The aim was to improve the criminogenic situation and curb the activities of criminal groups involved in the illegal trade of precious metals.
As a result, from the residences of 9 citizens, a total of 17.5 tons of sand and stones containing precious metals, equipment used in their processing, 135 g of gold, 25 g of the narcotic substance "marijuana", 1 hunting weapon, and 42 rounds of ammunition were officially seized in accordance with procedural rules.
The report states that the material evidence has now been sent for examination, and pre-investigation procedural actions are being conducted.
