Within a year, 11.7 million foreign citizens visited the country for tourism purposes, which is almost 47 percent more than last year. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee here.
According to it, the most tourists came from neighboring states: 3.3 million from the Kyrgyz Republic, and 2.7 million tourists each were recorded from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Nearly 1 million tourists visited from Russia.
The number of guests from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Turkey has also increased noticeably.
Among Asian countries, the share of tourists from India and the Republic of Korea was also noted.
