In this regard, the Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee of Uzbekistan presented official information.
It is noted that the Nipah virus is transmitted from animals, particularly bats, to humans. It can also be transmitted through contaminated food and from person to person. The virus primarily causes inflammation of the brain and severe respiratory diseases.
According to officials, the Nipah virus has not been detected in Uzbekistan, and the epidemiological situation in the country is stable. Nevertheless, citizens planning to travel to India are advised to take precautionary measures.
Specifically:
observing personal hygiene;
washing hands with soap and using antiseptics;
thoroughly washing fruits and vegetables;
not drinking unchecked water;
it is necessary not to consume fruits bitten or damaged by bats.
It was reminded that if high fever, severe headache, or other symptoms are observed, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately.
Furthermore, constant sanitary control is being carried out at 54 border points to prevent diseases from entering the country.
