On February 4, armed individuals stormed into the border village of Worodagi, adjacent to Niger State, setting houses and market stalls on fire.
According to media reports, the death toll reached 162, while officials told Reuters that at least 170 people were killed.
This incident is being assessed as one of the deadliest attacks recorded in the region this year.
It is noted that in recent times, cases of armed groups killing people, looting, and plundering livestock have sharply increased in this area.
