A video showing the collapse of a ride at the Surajkund fair in Faridabad city in northern India has appeared online. 

The footage shows the "Tsunami" ride collapsing directly onto visitors at the fair after one of the structure's support pillars gave way while the ride was fully operational.

According to the India Today publication, the incident occurred at approximately 6:15 PM local time. The injured were taken to the hospital. While a police inspector was trying to rescue people, a part of the ride hit the officer in the face. As a result, he died. 13 people were injured.

A criminal case has been initiated against the ride operator.

District administration officials reached the incident site quickly. The area was cordoned off to prevent further incidents.
