Regarding reports circulating on social networks about sexual violence committed against a minor girl in the Kashkadarya region, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shokhrukh Giyasov, issued a statement.
In response to an inquiry from the Nemolchi.uz publication, he stated that on June 7 of this year, in the Yakkabog district of the Kashkadarya region, 23-year-old Sh.Kh., 22-year-old D.Kh., 20-year-old O.N., and 21-year-old D.A. put a 14-year-old girl into a Damas vehicle, took her to a field area, and used violence against her.
It was noted that the crime scene was examined by an operational-investigative group, and material evidence significant to the case was collected. Additionally, forensic medical, biological, and psychological examinations have been ordered.
In connection with this incident, on June 8, 2026, the investigative department of the Yakkabog district Internal Affairs Bureau initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 128 (Sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years of age) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
However, based on evidence gathered during the investigation, on June 29, 2026, the criminal case was reclassified under Clause "a" of Part 3 of Article 118 (Violation of the honor of a person under 18 years of age) of the Criminal Code.
Subsequently, the suspects Sh.Kh., D.Kh., O.N., and D.A. were taken into custody in accordance with procedural order. According to the sanction of this article, persons found guilty may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years.
