During rapid investigative measures conducted by the operational staff of the Bukhara regional internal affairs bodies, a person born in 1993 was detained. According to law enforcement agencies, the detained citizen had been operating as the chairman of the district society of the Federation of Societies for the Protection of Consumer Rights of Uzbekistan in Shofirkon district.
It is known that this individual has previously had legal issues: he was convicted under Article 167 (extortion), Article 168 (fraud), and Article 228 (violation of administrative supervision rules) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Despite this, his subsequent appointment to a responsible position has raised various questions among the public.
According to the materials of the rapid operation, through his acquaintances working in high positions in the district administration, he promised to allocate a 20-square-meter land plot near a pilgrimage site and an auto station in the district territory for entrepreneurial activity, as well as to obtain permission for light construction work on that land.
It is said that in exchange for these "services," he demanded 500 US dollars from the citizen. During the rapid operation, he was caught red-handed while receiving the money with material evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Bukhara city department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the incident. Simultaneously, investigative actions are being carried out based on the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
