The Supreme Court upheld the verdict in the case of the death of two young children in Zomin district.

The verdict of the court of first instance regarding the incident that occurred in June 2025 in the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region was also upheld at the appellate stage.

According to the Supreme Court, the Zomin District Court for Criminal Cases found O.T. guilty under Part 2 of Article 117 ("leaving in danger") and subparagraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code on December 10, 2025.

According to the court's verdict, O.T. was sentenced to 7 years of deprivation of liberty and deprived of the right to drive all types of vehicles for a period of 3 years. The sentence is to be served in a general regime penal colony.

The verdict remained unchanged by the decision of the appellate instance on February 24, 2026, and the parties have the right to file a cassation appeal or bring a protest in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The incident occurred on June 23, 2025, in Zomin district; the two-year-old child of a Khorezm family went missing and was found dead several days later. The internal affairs bodies initiated a criminal case and conducted investigative actions.
