Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of Kashkadarya region was held. The results of reforms being implemented in the region and future priority tasks were discussed.
It was noted that last year the gross regional product increased by 6.8%, industry by 7.2%, the service sector by 13.6%, and agriculture by 4.3%. By 2026, through the implementation of new projects in economic sectors, it is planned to ensure an 8.6% growth in industry, attract $3.5 billion in investments, and export $727 million worth of products.
The meeting also provided information on launching 195 industrial projects worth $1.7 billion, establishing new micro-industrial centers, and constructing large industrial zones.
Furthermore, specific tasks were defined for increasing agricultural productivity, widely introducing water-saving technologies, improving drinking water supply, and developing tourism potential.
At the end of the meeting, officials were given assignments to create new jobs, increase investment and export indicators, and improve the living standards of the population.
