The last group of Uzbek citizens who were stranded there due to the closure of Qatar's airspace have returned to their homeland. The evacuation process was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Qatar. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

According to the agency's information, on March 13-14, 96 citizens traveled by bus from Doha to Dubai and from there flew to Tashkent by plane. Employees of the diplomatic mission accompanied the bus to the border to ensure its safety.

It is reported that a total of 548 Uzbek citizens, including tourists, students, and those who had come for temporary work, were evacuated from Qatar during the process.

The need for evacuation arose after Qatar closed its airspace on February 28 due to armed clashes between Israel, the US, and Iran. As a result, the activity of Hamad International Airport was temporarily suspended and approximately 2000 flights were canceled.
