A corruption-related case has been uncovered in the Kashkadarya region. During an operational event conducted jointly by employees of the State Security Service and the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, an Internal Affairs officer was detained while accepting a bribe.
It was reported that the regional Internal Affairs Department had conducted investigative actions regarding the discovery of banned materials of a religious nature on the phones of a woman born in 1983, residing in the Dehqonobod district, and her daughter born in 2009.
Subsequently, a person born in 1978, who had promised to resolve this case in their favor through acquaintances, was detained at the moment he received 3 million soums from the woman.
Continuing the operational event, an operational representative of the Criminal Investigation Service of the Kashkadarya Regional Internal Affairs Department was also caught with material evidence at the moment he received 2.5 million soums from the intermediary for positively resolving this matter.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the Internal Affairs officer under Article 210 of the Criminal Code — receiving a bribe, and against the person who acted as an intermediary under Article 212 — mediation in giving or receiving a bribe, and investigative actions are being carried out.
The State Security Service has called on citizens to contact the agency via the short number 1520 if they encounter similar violations. It was emphasized that anonymity is guaranteed.
