Employees of the State Security Service of the Tashkent City Department, in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, during an operational operation exposed corrupt actions by tax inspection employees.
It turned out that the head of a department of the Bektemir district tax inspection demanded 4 million soums from a local entrepreneur in exchange for not formalizing a complaint about the failure to issue a sales receipt to a buyer in his store and not bringing the case to court. At the moment of receiving this money through an inspector, he was caught red-handed by law enforcement agencies with material evidence.
During the pre-investigation check, it was established that this inspector had also received 1.5 million soums in April of this year in exchange for not reviewing a complaint related to the same store.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident, and investigative actions are being carried out.
