DPRK leader Kim Jong Un visited a training base of the Capital Defence Corps of the Korean People's Army and observed tactical drills of combined assaults by infantry and tank units. The drills involved special mission units, armored tank forces, and a tank company.
Kim Jong Un stated that the new tank is the product of many years of development and is equipped with a modern fire control system and electronic warfare devices. He emphasized that the tank will enhance the combat capability of the army and allow for effective conduct of night battles:
"There is no armored weapon in the world with such a powerful self-defense function as this tank. The combat limitations of our troops, who were weak in night battles, have been completely eliminated."
For reference, since 2022, Kim Ju Ae has been regularly accompanying her father on his field inspections. Citing South Korean officials, reports have indicated that she is being prepared for the role of successor.
