In Uzbekistan, 203 cases related to the illegal use of energy resources were identified in May of this year. This was reported by the Inspection for Control over the Use of Electricity, Petroleum Products, and Gas .
According to the report, during the control measures, it was found that consumers illegally used 31.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 6.3 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Preliminary calculations indicate that as a result of these violations, 51.1 billion soums worth of electricity and 19.5 billion soums worth of natural gas were embezzled. The total amount of damage was recalculated at 70.6 billion soums.
Additionally, 507 administrative cases were formalized regarding violations of the rules for using energy resources.
The Uzenergoinspeksiya announced that control measures to identify and prevent cases of illegal use of energy resources are ongoing.
