Mirziyoyev criticized the problems in the chemical industry.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the existing problems in the chemical industry, noting that while the republic's industry has grown by an average of 6.3% over the past nine years, the chemical sector has not even reached 3%.

It was emphasized that imports of chemical products are increasing, reaching $4.5 billion per year. Additionally, local producers are unable to meet even 60 percent of domestic demand.

The meeting also noted that available opportunities are not being effectively utilized, and the added value per worker in the chemical industry is 2–3 times lower compared to other countries.

The President criticized "Uzkimyosanoat" JSC for primarily working with large enterprises within its own system, and for the lack of systematic dialogue with over 5,000 enterprises in the sector and the slow progress in studying their problems and proposals.

Therefore, the head of state announced that he has decided to personally meet with representatives of chemical industry enterprises to discuss pressing issues in the sector.
