During an operational event conducted in the Tashkent region, nearly 9 kilograms of hashish were confiscated. The State Security Service reported this.
According to reports, employees of the State Security Service, Border Troops, and the Tashkent region department, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, conducted an operational event aimed at combating the illegal trafficking and smuggling of narcotic drugs.
As part of the event, a vehicle of the 'Tracker' model traveling on the 'Tashkent – Fergana' route was stopped at a highway patrol service post.
During the inspection, a vehicle driven by a citizen residing in the city of Fergana, born in 1990, and previously convicted under Article 166 (robbery) of the Criminal Code, was searched. From the car's cabin, 1.72 grams of a narcotic substance, kept by the driver for personal consumption, were found.
During an additional search, 8 kilograms 913 grams of hashish were found in the car's trunk and seized in accordance with established procedures.
According to the pre-investigation check, this person received the narcotic substance from individuals who smuggled it from a neighboring country into the territory of the Tashkent region and planned to take it to his permanent place of residence.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident. Investigative actions are ongoing.
