The head of the secretariat of the governing bodies of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Joe Dedeyne-Aman, highly assessed the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the 35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
He noted that the participation of a high-ranking delegation from Uzbekistan in the session of the Commission, which is the main UN body in this area, is of great importance.
"We are truly pleased and deeply appreciate the participation of such a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan," he said.
Joe Dedeyne-Aman also specifically noted that Uzbekistan has expressed interest in hosting the 16th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2031.
According to him, the high-level delegation participating in the Commission session, as well as the presentation dedicated to improving the protection of the rights of women and children, creates a solid foundation for preparations for this international forum.
"The presence of a high-level delegation here, as well as the inspiring presentation on improving the protection of the rights of women and children, provides a strong basis for the preparation process for the 16th UN Congress," said the UN official.
