According to data from the National Statistics Committee, at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, a total of 11,118 schools are operating across the country.
It is noted that this indicator has increased by 175 compared to the previous academic year. This indicates that new schools are being established in the education system.
By region, the highest number of schools is in Samarkand (1,350), Kashkadarya (1,294), and Fergana (1,119) regions. The lowest indicator is in Syrdarya region — 345.
Also, in Tashkent city, 503 general secondary education institutions are operating, and in Tashkent region, 935 are operating.
